The ST150 / ST350EX PID is a fixed PID gas detector suitable for the detection of volatile organic components (VOC’s). The ST150 / ST350 EX PID utilise the Photo Ionization measuring principle and is equipped with a 10.6eV PID lamp with a patented fence electrode. Because of this “fence”, the sensor has a better protection against atmospheric humidity and pollution. The PID sensor has a very fast response and a high sensitivity due to this gasses with an ionisation potential < 10.6eV are quickly detected. The PID gas detector is available in three measuring ranges, 0-10 ppm, 0-100 ppm and 0-1000 ppm. The ST150 is a non-Ex version and the ST350EX PID is ATEX and IECEx certified for use in Ex zones 1/2 and 21/22.

Application Note

ST150-PID and ST350EX-PID Detection of Volatile Organic Compounds are advanced gas detection solutions designed for accurate monitoring of VOCs in industrial and environmental applications. Utilizing photoionization detection (PID) technology, these detectors provide rapid response and high sensitivity, enabling precise detection of gases with ionization potential below 10.6 eV.

Equipped with a 10.6 eV PID lamp and patented fence electrode technology, the sensor is protected against humidity and environmental contamination, ensuring stable and reliable performance over time. This design significantly enhances durability and accuracy, even in challenging conditions.

The detectors are capable of identifying over 600 different volatile organic compounds and are available in multiple measurement ranges, including 0–10 ppm, 0–100 ppm and 0–1000 ppm. This flexibility allows them to be used in a wide range of applications, from low-level environmental monitoring to higher concentration industrial processes.

The ST150 variant is designed for general industrial environments, while the ST350EX-PID version is certified for hazardous areas with ATEX and IECEx approvals, making it suitable for use in Zone 1/2 and Zone 21/22 environments.

Widely used in health, safety and environmental (HSE) monitoring, soil remediation, air quality analysis, arson investigation and chemical processing industries, these detectors play a critical role in ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and environmental protection.
